Lange Nacht der Spielwelten

In cooperation with the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart and the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart, the successful format of the Lange Nacht (Long Night), in which visual art meets music, is once again taking place this season. With Kaija Saariaho's mysterious Nocturne for solo violin or Mauricio Kagel's captivating Match for two cellos and a percussionist as referee as well as other works, the musicians of the Staatsorchester Stuttgart will create exciting connections to the exhibitions of the three museums: to the collection of classical modernism in the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart with a lecture by art educator Andreas Pinczewski on the subject of listening to pictures, seeing music, to the exhibition Sieh Dir die Menschen an! at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart and on the Three Doors project at the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart. Special guests include the Aleph Guitar Quartet, which will premiere the piece GAME 844 by Austrian composer Bernhard Lang, whose new opera Dora can be seen at the Staatsoper Stuttgart this season.
